Splendid Iris Jewelry is made of brass (unless otherwise noted) and plated with 18k gold or rhodium. The process is called electroplating. Other materials often used are fresh water pearls, glass crystals, natural stones, and cubic zirconia.  

Yes! We have a selection of water resistant jewelry made of stainless steel. The silver color is polished stainless steel, while the gold color is plated 18k gold and uses a process called PVD. Because of the process, the gold color is inherently a shade darker than our other pieces.

Fashion jewelry is best stored in individual plastic bags away from light. Keep jewelry dry and moisture free and avoid contact with chemicals and cosmetics. Our Water Resistant collection should be cared for when not in use; however, you can freely without worrying about the color fading.

We do not consider our jewelry hypoallergenic, as everyone has different reactions to various materials.
